Who Is Roger Thorpe?

Michael Zaslow made his first appearance in the fictional town of Springfield as Roger Adam Thorpe on April 1, 1971.   Nine years later, on April 1, 1980, Roger fell from a cliff to his presumed death in Santo Domingo.  Although it took nearly a decade, rumors of his demise  proved to be greatly exaggerated.  April Fools Day ... indeed.  In February 1989,  Michael returned to Guiding Light, and Roger's presence and Michael's award-winning performances once again energized Springfield for eight exciting years that his legion of fans will  never forget.

Circumstances beyond his control dictated Michael's  all too abrupt and ultimately irrevocable departure from Guiding Light on April 8, 1997; his final episode as Roger Thorpe aired on April 23, 1997. This website will remember Roger ... we'll recall many of Michael's memorable moments  and classic scenes as one of daytime's truly legendary characters through articles, interviews, video captures, transcripts, and commentaries.  If you'd like to request a favorite scene, suggest a theme for future features, or make your own creative contribution to this tribute, email us at ThorpeRenaldi@michaelzaslow.com .
