Hail Hecuba!

The magnificent Robin Strasser has obviously been delighted with playing the wicked but pleasure seeking, high-powered Hecuba on Passions. The viewers have been watching her every turn.

Always in the moment, sometimes virtually singing her incantations, Strasser's Hecuba, on a dime, can morph from daytime's greatest entertainment to the most annoying tormentor. Not an easy balancing act, for sure. Just when we are manipulated to the point of utter frustration with her supernatural machinations as the show's chief power monger, she treats us to another of her wacky spells, or a nutty/witty observation regarding the other action about town or down below.

Hecuba has inspired television's best laughing jags since Santa Barbara! She's also provoked many angry sighs and roars of rage. (Is this not what good escapist art is all about?)
