To the " Machine Man"

The man from Llanview could not speak,
But his voice was heard by millions;
His hand could not hold a child,
But he carried us all with his heart.
His pride compared to a world class athlete,
Although his legs could no longer run.
A life extinguished too early,
A legacy that will remain forever.
His name may slip our minds one day,
But his spirit will never be far from our thoughts.
